I have always been fascinated by the power of the Internet and how it has changed our world compared to previous generations.
Internet and web based technologies have improved global commerce, finance, communications infrastructure and geopolitical formation. Video chat, instant messaging, social networking, live multimedia streaming are just few of the long list of tools available these days that have contributed to the enhancement of worldwide communications. Online catalogs, bulletins, libraries, blogs, newspapers have all helped in the formation a new model for global distribution of information.
Today, virtually every person, business and organization either uses or is directly affected by Information Systems (IS). From multi-million dollar companies to most small town mom & pop shops are now connected and use Information Systems to conduct their daily business.
My interest in web-based technologies is the reason why I selected to pursue a degree in computing. In 2006, I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Computer and Information Sciences (CIS) with a specialization in Information Systems (IS) and in 2015 completed my Master’s degree in the same field of study with a 4.0 grade point average.
My degrees cover many areas in software technology, such as web development, programing, web server installation, configuration, database design and management, operating systems, software engineering, software integration and networking. In addition to the programming and technology-related fields, I have completed supportive coursework in business, leadership, accounting and marketing.
I have extensive programming and development experience in PHP, XML, XSL, SQL, Ajax, JavaScript (JQuery), X-HTML, HTML-5, Bootstrap and CSS. I have developed numerous dynamic and responsive Content Management System (CMS) templates, programs, snippets and online forms that are integrated with Omni Update’s - Ou Campus CMS and are broadly used by the University Webmaster communities. That is in addition to the development of custom dynamic templates and applications under number of popular Open Source CMS platforms including, Joomla, WordPress and Drupal.
In the past fifteen years years I have contributed to the development of numerous custom online applications including Give to USA Temporary Payment Portal, GPA Calculator, Mass Mail System, Scholarship Estimator, Campus Calendar of Events, University Interactive Campus Map and most recently developed a custom web application for the USA Coastal Weather Research Center (CWRC) referred to as the Email Notification System (ENS). In the event of severe weather, ENS allows the CWRC Weather staff to quickly generate and transmit severe weather email alert notifications to their local and regional business and industry clients.
I have launched bayats.com to share with you my interests in web technologies, past research, findings and programming/web development project portfolio. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions about a particular topic or need technical consultation for a project. I look forward to hearing from you.
